Sadyr Japarov gave instructions to release the citizen detained for "liking".

In Kyrgyzstan, a case involving a citizen detained for "liking" on social media has come to the attention of the head of state. Local sources reported on this.

It is reported that the citizen's grandmother appealed to the President, informing him that her grandson, Abdullo Ismoilov, was sentenced to 1 year and 7 months of imprisonment for "liking" on social networks. According to her words, the young man was taken to the city of Bishkek.

The President of Kyrgyzstan commented on this situation, stating that punishing a citizen merely for "liking" is incorrect.

"Prosecutor, this is your job, this is under your supervision. Your detention for a 'like' is incorrect, look into this matter. Conduct an inspection. If the grandmother's words are confirmed, release the young man immediately. Understood? Both of you work on this right now, get the information from the grandmother. If this is true (release him), and if there is another reason, then there is no other way," said Sadyr Japarov.

The head of state instructed the Prosecutor General to thoroughly and comprehensively investigate this case.
