In January–March 2026, the volume of extraction of primary energy resources in Uzbekistan decreased. This was reported by the Statistics Committee announced.

 

According to the data, in the first quarter, natural gas production amounted to 9.6 billion cubic meters, which is 15% less compared to the same period last year. 

 

Oil extraction volume amounted to 157.3 thousand tons, a decrease of 2.2% compared to the first quarter of 2025. Gas condensate production decreased by 18.3%, falling to 242.3 thousand tons.

 

Compared to 2024, natural gas extraction decreased by 17.2%, oil by 12.2%, and gas condensate by 26%.

 

At the same time, an increase compared to last year was observed in the production of certain products. In particular, automobile gasoline production increased by 2.9%, reaching 313.2 thousand tons. However, this indicator still remains 13.1% below the level of 2024.

 

Coal extraction volume decreased to 1.1 million tons, down 8.3% from last year's figure of 1.2 million tons. At the same time, this indicator remains higher than the 1 million tons recorded in the same period of 2024.

 

Positive growth was recorded in some areas of industry. Specifically, Portland cement production increased by 13.9%, reaching 4.1 million tons. Diesel fuel production increased by 54.3%, reaching 280.9 thousand tons.

 

Electricity production also showed growth, increasing by 4.7% to 22.93 billion kWh.
