In Surkhandarya, a mudslide submerged a bridge leading to Tajikistan.
The bridge of international importance in Sariosiyo was seriously damaged by a mudflow, and traffic has been temporarily suspended.

A mudflow occurred due to heavy rainfall in the Sarosiyo district of Surxondaryo region. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported this.
According to the report, on June 21, the mudflow flowed through the mudflow channel, and water ingress was observed in several residential houses and household plots located in the "Bog'i Samarqand" and "Shirin" MFY areas.
Furthermore, the natural disaster caused the subsidence of a bridge on the M41 highway connecting Uzbekistan and Tajikistan in the Sarosiyo district.
Experts state that due to the rainfall, the water level and flow speed in the river increased, resulting in high pressure on the bridge supports, which caused its subsidence.
Traffic on this bridge, built in 1977, is currently restricted. Vehicle movement has been organized via a detour route in the Uzun district area.
