The President sent congratulations to the participants of the international cultural events in Andijan.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev called Andijan's status as the "Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" a recognition of Uzbekistan's rich cultural heritage and international prestige.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a congratulatory message to the participants of the events held on the occasion of the declaration of Andijan city as the "Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" in 2026.
In his address, the head of state congratulated the leaders of international organizations, ambassadors of foreign countries, and representatives of culture, literature, and art of the Turkic world, assessing the granting of such a high status to Andijan as an international recognition of Uzbekistan's rich historical and cultural heritage, its contribution to the development of Turkic culture, and the reforms being implemented in the country.
The President noted that Andijan has been one of the centers of culture, literature, art, and craftsmanship for centuries. It was highlighted that great figures such as Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur and Abdulhamid Cholpon, who emerged from this land, as well as the "Andijan Polka" dance and the art of askiya, are an important part of the cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples.
The address also paid special attention to Uzbekistan's cooperation with TURKSOY. In particular, it was noted that a 100-volume collection of "Masterpieces of Turkic Literature" has been published, a number of scientific and cultural events have been organized, and an office of TURKSOY was opened at the Center of Islamic Civilization in April of this year.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed confidence that the festivals, scientific conferences, artistic evenings, and creative meetings to be held throughout the year within the framework of the "Andijan – Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" project will further strengthen friendship and solidarity between peoples.
The head of state wished the event participants good health and success, and welcomed the guests to Andijan city.
