Russia has restricted the import of several types of vegetables and fruits from Uzbekistan.
Restrictions have been imposed on five Uzbek exporters who most frequently violated phytosanitary regulations.
Rosselkhoznadzor has imposed restrictions on five Uzbek exporters, preventing them from supplying certain fruits and vegetables to Russia due to detected phytosanitary violations.
According to Rosselkhoznadzor, the decision was made in response to an increase in cases where quarantine objects were found in imported products under quarantine.
The restrictions cover white cabbage, cauliflower, bulb onions, dill, parsley, grapes, beets, and tomatoes. They apply only to the five exporters with the highest number of phytosanitary rule violations.
According to the agency, since the beginning of 2026, 132 quarantine objects have been identified in these products. These include the tomato brown rugose fruit virus, the South American tomato pinworm, the western (California) flower thrips, and the benyvirus causing necrotic yellowing of veins.
Rosselkhoznadzor stated that these restrictions were introduced to prevent the entry of quarantine pests and diseases into Russian territory.
