The "Rose – 2026" competition has been announced for women working in the media.

Recommendations for candidates for the competition will be accepted from July 20 to August 20, 2026. The winners of the competition will be announced on the eve of the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's Independence.

The "Rose – 2026" competition has been announced for women working in the media.

The Uzbekistan Journalists' Union, in cooperation with the Committee on Family and Women, has announced the "Atirgul – 2026" republican competition among women working in mass media on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

 

The competition is being organized to increase the socio-political activity of women, strengthen the institution of the family, promote national values and spiritual heritage, as well as prevent pressure and violence against women.

 

Furthermore, the competition is aimed at encouraging women journalists working in the media and recognizing their achievements in accordance with the "New Uzbekistan – 2030" strategy, state programs, and national development concepts.

 

The competition will be held in 12 categories:

 

1. Best Television Journalistic Material

   (TV story, TV report, interview, special program)

 

2. Best Radio Journalistic Material

   (radio broadcast, interview, author's program)

 

3. Best Print Media Material

   (article, essay, analytical material, interview)

 

4. Best Internet Journalism Material

   (online article, multimedia project, web journalism)

 

5. Best Social Media Project

   (creative projects on Telegram, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram platforms)

 

6. Best Investigative Journalism

   (analytical investigation dedicated to social issues)

 

7. Best Photojournalism Work

   (photo report, social photo essay)

 

8. Best Documentary Film or Special Media Project

 

9. Best Young Journalist

   (for journalists up to 30 years old)

 

10. Best Regional Journalistic Material

 

11. Public Recognition Award

 

12. Special Prize of the Jury

 

Candidates for the competition are recommended by the regional branches of the Uzbekistan Journalists' Union, the Creative Councils under the Union, and the Committee on Family and Women.

 

Recommendations for candidates for the competition will be accepted from July 20, 2026, to August 20, 2026.

 

The final decision on reviewing candidates' documents and announcing the winners of the competition is made by the competition's Jury.

 

The winners of the competition will be announced on the eve of the 35th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan and will be awarded a special diploma, a commemorative statuette, and a cash prize.
