The master plan of Bukhara city has been approved.

According to the plan, during the accounting period, the city's area will expand from 7,966.78 hectares to 11,847.06 hectares. The length of main streets will be increased from 102.6 kilometers to 203 kilometers.

The master plan of Bukhara city was approved by the government's decision No. 402 dated July 23, 2026. The "Legal Information" Telegram channel reported this.

 

According to the document, during the accounting period, the population of Bukhara city will increase from 289,190 to 385,000 people, and the city's territory will expand from 7,966.78 hectares to 11,847.06 hectares.

 

Additionally, the total area of the housing stock is planned to be increased from 4,456,310 square meters to 8,085,000 square meters. As a result, the housing area per person will rise from 15.4 square meters to 21 square meters. The accounting period also envisions a reduction of 114,660 square meters of housing stock.

 

In accordance with the decision, cultural, domestic, and communal facilities will be developed to align the population's needs for social infrastructure objects with current standards, and new public complexes will be built in vacant areas.

 

Furthermore, the length of main streets will be increased from 102.6 kilometers to 203 kilometers. In the first phase, it is planned to bring this indicator to 155.35 kilometers. The formation of a public transport system with a capacity to serve 163.8 million passengers per year is also included in the master plan.
