Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov announced at the "Ruh-Ordo" cultural center in Issyk-Kul that documents were signed to increase the number of checkpoints on the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan state border from 15 to 30, following talks with Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This was reported by 24 kg.

 

Japarov emphasized that this decision will facilitate the mutual movement of citizens of the two countries and serve to expand trade, economic, and humanitarian ties.

 

"Now people can freely visit each other, engage in business, study, and relax," said the Kyrgyz leader.

 

He also noted that relations between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have reached one of the highest levels in their history today.

 

As part of Shavkat Mirziyoyev's state visit, an agreement on one section of the state border between the two countries, a protocol on checkpoints, cooperation agreements in various fields, and a treaty on allied relations were signed.

 

A consultative meeting of the leaders of Central Asian states and Azerbaijan is taking place in Issyk-Kul, with the participation of regional leaders and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
