Acceptance of documents for presidential and named state scholarships has begun.

Starting August 1, the acceptance of documents from candidates for the Republican and Presidential state scholarships has begun in Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation announced this.

 

According to the ministry, documents will be accepted electronically until August 15 via the my.edu.uz platform. Talented bachelor's degree students who have successfully passed the first stage of selection at their higher education institution may participate in the competition.

 

Candidates for the Presidential state scholarship must have academic performance indicators consisting entirely of "5" grades. For candidates for the Republican named state scholarships, it is stipulated that the share of "4" grades must not exceed 25 percent, and students with "3" grades cannot participate in the competition.

 

Candidates must submit an academic transcript, recommendations from the dean's office and department, a recommendation from the supervisor of their scientific or creative work, a list of their scientific works and copies thereof, as well as certificates regarding the results of interviews on the history of Uzbekistan and foreign languages.

 

Additionally, bachelor's degree students applying for the Presidential state scholarship are required to have at least two published scientific articles, theses, or other research works.

 

By the government's decision of January 6, 2026, a new procedure for selecting candidates for Presidential and named state scholarships has been introduced starting from the 2026/2027 academic year.

 

According to the new procedure, applicants take special tests in information technology, the history of Uzbekistan, and foreign languages at the Agency for Assessment of Knowledge and Skills. To advance to the next stage, candidates must score at least 55 percent of the maximum possible points.
