Two citizens of Uzbekistan who were living illegally in Japan have been deported.
Officials urged foreigners to strictly adhere to their visa validity periods, warning that illegal residence and employment could lead to serious legal consequences.
The Japan Immigration Services Agency has deported two citizens of Uzbekistan who had been residing illegally in the country.
It was reported that both citizens entered Japan on short-term visas but did not leave the country after their visa periods expired. Subsequently, they were apprehended by Japanese law enforcement authorities and deported.
The Agency noted that if cases of illegal residence or employment are identified, individuals may be arrested, placed in immigration facilities, and deported.
Additionally, the Japanese government also provides information about foreign nationals who have committed violations to the governments of their home countries. For this reason, it was noted that such individuals may also face appropriate measures under current legislation upon returning to Uzbekistan.
Officials urged citizens not to trust baseless and illegal offers such as "you can work in Japan." Furthermore, the Japan Immigration Services stated that claims suggesting one can stay or work in the country for an extended period by applying for refugee status do not correspond to reality.
It was noted that applications submitted for such purposes may be rejected, and the applicant may be placed in an immigration facility or deported.
The Agency also warned that providing false information or attempting to obtain refugee status through illegal means could lead to serious legal liability.
