Case of the rug with the Russian flag: criminal proceedings against the Uzbek woman were refused.
The Consulate General in Kazan has reported that this was achieved as a result of negotiations conducted with the authorized agencies of Russia.

No criminal case will be initiated against Uzbek citizen M.S., who was investigated in connection with an incident involving a doormat bearing the image of the Russian state flag in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region. The General Consulate of Uzbekistan in Kazan announced this.
It was reported that, previously, the General Consulate had taken appropriate consular and legal measures regarding this incident and conducted negotiations with Russia's competent authorities through diplomatic channels.
As a result, in cooperation with the representative office of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nizhny Novgorod, a decision was made to refuse to initiate a criminal case against M.S. under Article 329 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (desecration of state symbols).
