Trump sees Vance as his successor — WP
Trump had not yet made a clear choice in public between JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

US President Donald Trump has told Republican Party donors that he intends to support Vice President J.D. Vance in the 2028 presidential election. Anadolu reported this, citing The Washington Post.
According to the publication, Trump said at a meeting with donors at the White House about two weeks ago: "Ultimately, we need to elect J.D."
It is noted that until now, Trump had not made a clear choice publicly between J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. He has praised both politicians and has not revealed who his preferred successor is.
Nevertheless, one of the sources said that Trump, in private conversations, sees Vance as the politician who will lead the Republican Party after him. However, other advisers indicated that the president has not yet made a final decision and could change his mind.
So far, J.D. Vance has not officially announced his participation in the 2028 presidential election. According to The Washington Post, he is expected to make a decision on this matter later.
