Is the Wildberries company leaving Russia and opening its own warehouses in Uzbekistan?

Recently, Wildberries warehouses in Russia have suffered major losses as a result of Ukrainian drone strikes.

 

According to reports circulating online, 20 percent of warehouse capacity in Russia has been taken out of operation as a result of the attacks. Wildberries may build warehouses in Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan and redirect its long-term storage products there.

 

According to reports, the company is leaving the territory of the Russian Federation. The Moscow Times reports that Wildberries representatives held a meeting with their sellers. At the meeting, they stated that long-term storage warehouses will now be located mainly in Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, and that additional information on delivery times and logistics costs will be provided later.

 

Zamon.uz journalist Shohjahon Majidov sent the following questions to the company's press service email:

 

• Is the information that Wildberries is considering relocating part of its logistics infrastructure outside of Russia true?
• Is the company considering expanding its logistics capacity or establishing new logistics centers in Central Asian countries, particularly in Uzbekistan?
• Have the recent drone attacks significantly impacted the company's logistics operations and future development plans?
• What measures is Wildberries taking to ensure the resilience of its logistics infrastructure and to continuously fulfill its obligations to customers?

 

According to the company's press service, the construction of warehouse complexes is being carried out according to plan, in line with the company's long-term strategy. The company stated that the information suggesting it is considering relocating its core capacities outside the territory of the Russian Federation is not true.

 

In the response letter from Wildberries & Rus, it is stated that the company has currently mobilized all necessary resources to restore logistics processes and ensure the stable operation of the platform.

 

"Wildberries is supporting all sellers whose products were damaged as a result of the attacks on the company's logistics facilities, regardless of which country the company operates in. Compensation payments are being made gradually, in the form of installments, and this process is ongoing," the company's response letter to Zamon.uz states.

 

The letter states that the company's plans in Uzbekistan remain unchanged and work continues according to the established plan.

 

"Projects aimed at developing infrastructure and services for local sellers and buyers will be consistently continued in accordance with the company's long-term strategy," the response states.
