Iran is demanding compensation from the US for opening the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran is demanding compensation from the United States to resume maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. Point.md reported this.

According to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Iran is close to reaching an agreement with Oman regarding the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz. However, this agreement does not imply the full opening of the waterway. Araghchi stated that Iran expects compensation from the United States for violating the peace agreement.

Currently, Iran and Oman are discussing the details of a temporary route for ship movement through the Strait of Hormuz. Under the proposed arrangement, commercial vessels would enter the strait through Iranian territorial waters and exit through Omani territorial waters.

According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, this temporary route could remain in effect for two to four months. If necessary, its validity period may be extended.

Meanwhile, Hossein Mohebbi, a representative of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz is not only an economic and maritime route but also a symbol of the country's geopolitical superiority.
