The President of Tajikistan ordered the construction of Uzbek schools for the city's Uzbek-speaking population and their provision with Uzbek-language textbooks and educational materials.
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon instructed the construction of educational institutions teaching in the Uzbek language for the Uzbek-speaking population of Tursunzoda city, as well as providing them with textbooks and learning materials in Uzbek. This was announced during the working visit of the President of Tajikistan to Tursunzoda, as reported by "Khovar".
Emomali Rahmon attended the opening ceremony of secondary school No. 21 in Tursunzoda city and highly assessed the quality of construction work. He called on officials and teachers to take a more responsible approach to improving the quality and level of education and upbringing.
During a conversation with teachers, the President emphasized the need to pay special attention to the development of modern sciences, the effective use of new techniques and technologies, as well as the study of natural, exact, and mathematical sciences and foreign languages.
Within the framework of the visit, a total of 60 facilities were built and put into operation in Tursunzoda city. Among them are 20 secondary schools designed for 18,200 students in two shifts, 5 private preschool institutions for 950 children, 4 industrial enterprises, 1 tourism facility, 5 service facilities, 6 sports grounds, 3 modern refrigeration complexes with a total capacity of 5,300 tons, 9 multi-story residential buildings, administrative and cultural buildings, a State Flag square, and a Culture and Recreation Park. As a result of these projects, 1,220 permanent jobs were created.
According to officials, 132 secondary schools currently operate in Tursunzoda city. More than 78,863 students are receiving education and upbringing there.
As part of preparations for the worthy celebration of the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's State Independence, it is planned to build and put into operation another 24 educational institutions in Tursunzoda. So far, 19 of these school buildings have been put into operation, with a total capacity of 8,185 places.
