After 30 years, a document that came to the grandmother's mind: the fact of death from 1996 was confirmed through the court.

In Sirdarya, a 30-year-old incident caused an obstacle to an elderly woman's pension processing. The issue concerns the fact that the death of her child, who died in 1996 at just five days old, was never officially registered.

 

 

During those difficult days for the family, the infant's death was not registered with the civil registry offices (FHDYO). Years later, when the elderly woman began preparing her documents to retire, the situation from 30 years ago came back to the forefront.

 

Initially, the mother appealed to the Mirzaobod district justice department. After the matter was not resolved there, she filed an application with the Gulistan inter-district court for civil cases to establish the fact of her child's death.

 

How was the 30-year-old incident proven?

 

At the court hearing, the elderly woman's close neighbors and relatives participated as witnesses. They confirmed that the baby born in 1996 did not live long and passed away, and that they personally attended the funeral ceremony.

 

 

Additionally, the court examined relevant archival and other documents. In particular, a certificate issued by the Khojavali cemetery, which belongs to the Mirzaobod district improvement department, along with certificates from the FHDYO archive and the district FHDYO department, were added to the case materials.

 

According to Muzaffar Orolov, the judge of the Gulistan inter-district court for civil cases, after evaluating the collected evidence, witness testimonies, and available documents, the court ruled to establish the fact that the elderly woman's child died on September 10, 1996.

 

Thus, 30 years later, the death that had once gone unregistered was confirmed by a court decision.

 

This situation once again demonstrates how important it is to register documents in a timely manner. A document that was overlooked during the most difficult moments for a family became, years later, a necessary piece of evidence in an important matter such as pension processing.

 

Even the 30-year time gap did not prevent the truth from being confirmed: based on archival records, cemetery documents, and witness testimonies, the court legally established that the elderly woman's child had indeed passed away.
