In Uzbekistan, 1.4 million tons of household waste were removed and disposed of.
Within the framework of the “Urgent 40-day” cleanliness campaign, 30–40 thousand tons of waste were removed from the regions daily.
On the eve of the 35th anniversary of Independence Day in Uzbekistan, "Topical 40 Days" cleanliness campaigns are being held. The Waste Management Agency reported on this.
During the events, which run from July 28 to September 6, an average of 4,500 special vehicles and more than 10,000 employees are being mobilized daily to remove waste. Round-the-clock duty of sanitary cleanliness services has also been organized in the regions.
According to data, 30–40 thousand tons of solid household waste are being removed daily. Over the 40-day period, 1.4 million tons of solid household waste and 2 thousand tons of construction waste have been removed and disposed of.
Out of 8,150 neighborhoods in the republic, 7,674 have been fully covered by cleanliness campaigns.
Additionally, 97 violations related to dumping waste in undesignated places have been identified. Administrative fines totaling 165.4 million soums have been imposed for these violations.
Of the 327 appeals received from citizens, 275 have been resolved on the spot. Investigations into the remaining 52 appeals are ongoing.
According to the Solid Waste Landfill Management Directorate, waste reception and placement work is also being carried out at 135 solid household waste landfills covering an area of 1,653 hectares across the republic. An average of 4,500–4,700 trips are made to them daily, receiving 14–15 thousand tons of waste.
