202 countries, more than 2 thousand chess players: Samarkand today welcomed the chess world
Organizers are noting the Olympiad as the largest competition in the history of chess.
The 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad has begun at the Expo centers in Samarkand. On the first day of the event, more than 10,000 guests visited the complex.
More than 2,000 chess players from 202 countries are participating in the competition. The organizers are recording the Olympiad as the largest competition in the history of chess.
Additionally, the FIDE Congress and the Chess Paralympiad are also being held in Samarkand.
Three large venues and more than 40 hotels have been enlisted for organizing the events. During the competition, transport, security, and service systems are also in operation.
Thousands of volunteers and employees of state organizations are also participating in holding the Olympiad.
