President Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in the ceremony to launch new projects and start their construction as part of his visit to the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

 

Within the framework of the ceremony, 11 projects worth 592 million dollars were launched, and the construction of 47 new projects worth 7 billion dollars to be implemented with the participation of foreign partners was started. They will create 8,000 high-income jobs.

 

In particular, two wind power plants with a total capacity of 300 megawatts and a 100-megawatt electricity storage system were launched in Qorao'zak district.

 

Among the launched facilities is the Sheikh Khalifa hospital built in Nukus in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates. The 100-bed institution worth 27 million dollars is equipped with modern medical equipment. 80 jobs were created here. The Karakalpakstan Academy of Sciences and Practical Medicine will also serve to improve the quality of medical services in the region and develop the qualifications of specialists.

 

In the direction of developing digital infrastructure, the first phase of the 150 million dollar modular intellectual computing center of the "Linkwise" enterprise was launched in Taxiatosh district.

 

The 20 million dollar project of the "SAPSAN TRANS NO'KIS" enterprise aimed at improving public transport in Nukus has also started. 25 buses and electric buses have been brought, and by the end of the year an additional 75 electric buses will be delivered. The project envisages the creation of 200 jobs.

 

The projects whose construction is starting cover energy, digital economy, industry, transport, medicine and services sectors.

 

In Qo'ng'irot district, work on the construction of a large 1.5 gigawatt wind power plant worth 2.6 billion dollars in cooperation with the Saudi Arabian "ACWA" company and its connection to the unified energy system is moving to an active phase. Within the project, 1,500 kilometers of high-voltage main power lines will be laid, three 500-kilovolt substations will be built and two more will be modernized.

 

In Chimboy district, a project to produce 3 million cubic meters of biogas per year by processing licorice root for the first time in the republic has begun with Korean investors.

 

In order to develop transport infrastructure, construction work has begun on the 92-kilometer section of the A-380 "G'uzor – Bukhara – Nukus – Beyneu" highway in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank. The project cost is 233 million dollars. A project to purchase 112 electric buses and organize a depot for public transport in Nukus is also being implemented in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

 

Projects to establish digital currency production and artificial intelligence data centers with a total value of 2 billion 281 million dollars are being implemented with Chinese partners in Qo'ng'irot and Taxiatosh districts.

 

A data center will also be built in Taxtako'pir district. A project to produce electricity by thermal processing of waste has been launched in Nukus.

 

A 20 million dollar enterprise for gold mining will be built at the "Zengibobo" mine in Qorao'zak district. In Amudaryo district, a modern large shopping center worth 15 million dollars will be established.

 

In the social sphere, a university of medical sciences and a high-tech medical care hospital are being established on the basis of public-private partnership with Indian partners.

 

With the participation of Turkish partners, a 103 million dollar recreation, entertainment and shopping center will be built along the "Do'stlik" canal in Nukus based on the model of "Seoul Mun" in Tashkent.

 

At the ceremony, foreign partners provided information about the timelines for implementing and launching the projects. Regional governors presented their projects aimed at creating new jobs and increasing the income of poor families in the districts assigned to them.

 

The head of our state called on elders, scientists and representatives of the general public to establish public control over the implementation of each project. It was emphasized that such an approach will serve to ensure the well-being of families, the future of young people and the creation of a solid economic foundation for the Aral Sea region.

 

The head of our state expressed gratitude to foreign partners and entrepreneurs participating in the implementation of the projects.

 

A symbolic button was pressed, new facilities were launched and construction work was started. A sincere dialogue took place with investors and regional activists.

 

On the same spot, a presentation of the "Yangi O'zbekiston" residential complex to be built for young families in Nukus was also held. 270 hectares of land have been allocated for the complex, and the development of project documents has begun. Multi-storey residential buildings designed for 30 thousand residents, large business centers, shopping, service and entertainment facilities will be built here.
