The "East-West" oil pipeline is closed: Saudi Arabia temporarily suspends oil supplies to Europe

Saudi Aramco has notified at least two European oil refineries that Saudi oil will not be delivered next month. This was caused by a drone attack on the country's important oil pipeline leading to the Red Sea.

According to Bloomberg sources, deliveries will not be made next month to any buyers in Europe who regularly receive Saudi oil under long-term contracts.

It has been reported that Saudi Arabia shut down the "East-West" oil pipeline last week following the drone attack. The source indicated that pipeline operations may partially resume within a few days, while full operation could take up to six weeks.

Oil refineries in Europe mainly receive Saudi oil through Egypt's Sidi Kerir port. This port is connected to the Red Sea via the oil pipeline.

The suspension of the oil pipeline has prompted some Aramco customers to seek alternative supply sources. In particular, Poland's Orlen company has announced more than ten tenders for oil supplies since Friday.
