President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during his visit to the Republic of Karakalpakstan, familiarized himself with the reconstructed "Turon" stadium in Nukus.
The renovation of the complex has created new opportunities for the development of mass and professional football in the region, the selection of talented youth, and the improvement of athletes' training. This work was carried out in accordance with the tasks set in the resolution of the head of state dated April 7, 2023, "On additional measures for the comprehensive development of mass and professional football."
The total cost of the project amounts to 118.6 billion soums. Permanent employment has been provided for 85 people at the complex. As a result of the reconstruction, the stadium's capacity was increased from 9,300 to 12,000 seats.
The "Turon" stadium is the base of the "Aral" professional football club. Here, 190 trainees of the Republican Football Academy conduct regular training sessions and educational camps. The complex also has two sports halls and two additional stadiums.
A dormitory with 196 places, a dining hall with 84 places, gymnasiums, and tactical analysis rooms have been established for the academy's trainees. Additionally, conditions have been created for 100-150 athletes to engage in athletics, boxing, and taekwondo simultaneously.
Special platforms for mass media, installation points for offside cameras, and a separate zone for the centralized VAR system have been organized at the stadium. This infrastructure serves to conduct and cover competitions at a high level.
The head of our state, having familiarized himself with the conditions at the complex, gave recommendations and instructions on the development of sports, particularly football, in Karakalpakstan.
The President had a sincere conversation with young athletes training there and took a photo with them as a memento.
