616 million soums in prizes: "Teacher of the Year" winners announced
More than 46 thousand educators participated in the selection. The winners were selected in three stages.
The winners of the "Teacher of the Year" competition, held for the first time in 2026, have been announced. More than 46 thousand educators from across the republic participated in the competition.
According to the results of the competition, 208 educators who took first place from 208 districts and cities were declared winners. Each of them will receive a monetary award of 616 million soums, which is 1,400 times the base calculation amount.
It was reported that the competition was organized to encourage the enhancement of educators' professional skills and the improvement of education quality. The competition was introduced on the initiative of the President.
The "Teacher of the Year" competition will be held once every two years starting from 2026. In it, candidates participate in one subject they teach, while primary school teachers participate in the primary education track. Registration is carried out through the ministry's special platform.
The competition is held in three stages. In the first stage, candidates' theoretical knowledge of their specialty subject, pedagogical skills, and professional standards is assessed.
In the second stage, pedagogical skills are assessed based on criteria established by the panel of judges and educators. In this, a video recording of the candidate's conducted lesson is uploaded to a special platform.
In the third stage, candidates' spiritual and educational activities and reading level are assessed.
