Israeli strikes: At least three people killed in Gaza

At least three Palestinians were killed on Saturday in the Gaza Strip as a result of airstrikes carried out by Israel. Reuters reported this, citing medical officials.

In one of the strikes near the Jabaliya refugee camp in northern Gaza, Basir al-Bursh, the son of Munir al-Bursh, director general of the Gaza Ministry of Health, was killed.

The Israeli military stated that several militants, including Basir al-Bursh, were targeted during the strike. Hamas has not yet commented on this incident.

In a video obtained by Reuters, Munir al-Bursh is seen carrying the body of his son wrapped in a blanket and taking him to the hospital in an ambulance. According to al-Bursh, his son was struck after he stepped outside the tent.

According to reports, Munir al-Bursh lost his daughter in December 2023 as a result of an Israeli airstrike. He himself was also wounded in that attack.

One person was killed as a result of another strike on the Shujaiya area east of Gaza City. Another person was killed as a result of a strike on a vehicle in the Sheikh Radwan district of the city. The Israeli military announced that this strike was aimed at a Hamas militant.

According to Palestinian officials, more than 73,000 people have been killed as a result of Israel's military operations in Gaza, which began after Hamas-led militants killed nearly 1,200 people in southern Israel in October 2023.

The ceasefire agreed upon last year with U.S. mediation envisages the future reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. However, no significant progress has been observed in this regard due to the failure to reach an agreement on the disarmament of Hamas and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the territory.
