Iran announced the conditions for opening the Strait of Hormuz: a response is awaited from the US

Iran announced that it will not open the Strait of Hormuz for ship traffic until the US fulfills the conditions presented by Tehran. This was stated by the Speaker of Iran's parliament — the Majlis — Muhammad Baqer Ghalibaf, reported Point.md.

According to Ghalibaf, until the legitimate rights of the Iranian people are recognized and the US fulfills its obligations, there is no possibility of returning to the previous format of negotiations and opening the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier, the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaei, stated that the country's government had conveyed the conditions for ending the war to the US through Qatari mediators and was awaiting the response of US President Donald Trump.
