Over 22,000 tourists: France entered the top 5 European countries for tourist flow to Uzbekistan
This is 20.6 percent more compared to the same period last year.

In January–August 2026, 22,055 tourists from France visited Uzbekistan. This is 20.6 percent more compared to the same period last year.
Thus, France has become one of the top five European countries in terms of inbound tourism volume to Uzbekistan. Direct flights between Paris and Tashkent also remain one of the important factors for further increasing the flow of tourists.
Tourism cooperation between the two countries is not limited to the exchange of tourists. French companies are also participating in major tourism infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan.
In particular, MND, a company specializing in mountain infrastructure, has been involved in a project to create a year-round resort in Chimyon. POMA, a cable car manufacturer, is reviewing projects in Chimyon and Zomin.
Also, a number of French companies participated in developing the concept of the Beldersoy–Chimyon–Nanay international resort. In the hotel sector, France's Accor group operates in Uzbekistan with the Mercure, Mövenpick, Swissôtel, ibis, and Novotel brands.
Uzbekistan's participation with Country of Honour status at the IFTM Top Resa 2026 international tourism exhibition held in Paris also became a new opportunity for expanding ties between the two countries.
The Tourism Committee, in cooperation with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France, showcased the country's tourism potential. Within the framework of the exhibition, B2B meetings were held with tour operators, airlines, hotel business representatives, and other industry participants from Uzbekistan, France, and other countries.
At the same time, the tourism products that Uzbekistan is presenting to the international market are also expanding. Along with traditional routes through historical cities, opportunities for mountain, wellness, gastronomic, ecological, and MICE tourism are being developed.
New projects being implemented in the regions complement the traditional routes of the Great Silk Road and expand opportunities for foreign tourists to visit various regions of the country.
At the IFTM Top Resa 2026 exhibition, Uzbekistan also presented an updated national stand concept. In it, modern design is harmonized with elements of traditional architecture and culture, using wood, ceramics, and muqarnas elements.
