President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the cotton cultivation process based on the Xinjiang method at the "Agroklaster Oltinko'l" enterprise.

In Uzbekistan, special attention is being paid to the development of agriculture, the introduction of advanced technologies in the sector, and the application of scientific developments and approaches to production.

The head of state's decree dated December 9, 2025 on increasing productivity in cotton and grain farming became an important legal basis for expanding work in this regard.

The use of the Xinjiang method in cotton farming, along with significantly increasing productivity, allows for saving water, fertilizer and other resources, and reducing the costs of cotton care.

The total cultivated area of the "Agroklaster Oltinko'l" enterprise is 850 hectares. Of this, cotton cultivation based on the Xinjiang method has been established on 23 hectares.

In the Xinjiang technology, cotton seeds are planted in double rows under film. This serves to maintain soil moisture and temperature stability, and ensures early and uniform germination of seeds.

Through the drip irrigation and fertilization system, water and fertilizer are delivered directly to the cotton plant's roots. As a result, excessive consumption is prevented, saving up to 40 percent of water and nearly 30 percent of fertilizer.

While the traditional method yields an average of 30-35 centners of cotton per hectare, with the Xinjiang technology this indicator reaches 60-70 centners. Due to the favorable microclimate formed under the film, the harvest can be collected 10-15 days earlier compared to traditional fields.

At the enterprise, the main part of agrotechnical measures is carried out using agricultural drones. This sharply reduces the need for special machinery and fuel consumption.

The head of state was informed about the project's results, economic efficiency, and plans for further expanding this technology.
