Uzbek woman died in Istanbul: she was poisoned by medication
The deceased's body was brought to Uzbekistan.
On September 19, 2026, Uzbek citizen Meliyeva Mohira died in Istanbul as a result of poisoning from a pharmaceutical product. This was reported by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.
It is noted that the deceased was treated at home during her illness with the assistance of unofficial individuals. Due to the side effects of the medications taken during treatment, her condition worsened, an infection developed in her blood, and a severe reaction was observed in her body.
Nevertheless, the patient was not taken to the hospital in time, and home treatment was continued.
After her condition became serious, Meliyeva Mohira was first taken to Marmara Hospital. Since it was not possible to place her in the intensive care unit there, the patient was transferred to Kartal District Hospital. Despite the necessary medical procedures provided by doctors, it was not possible to save her life.
The body of the deceased was brought to Uzbekistan through the cooperation of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul and the Migration Agency.
The Consulate General called on Uzbek citizens staying in Turkey not to take medications without a doctor's recommendation and to avoid treatment by unofficial persons and those without appropriate qualifications.
It was also emphasized that when one's health condition sharply deteriorates, it is necessary to contact official medical institutions without wasting time.
The Consulate General expressed condolences to the family members and relatives of the deceased.
