More than 1,300 Israelis stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem under the protection of Israeli police. Anadolu Agency reported this, citing the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf Department.
It was reported that on the morning of September 30, 1,317 Israelis, accompanied by Israeli police, stormed the area of the holy site.
A representative of the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf Department, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that since the morning, hundreds of Israelis have been continuing to storm Al-Aqsa under the guard of Israeli police.
According to him, during the incursions, the historical status quo of the Al-Aqsa Mosque was violated. Israelis held religious ceremonies, prayed, sang songs, and danced.
According to the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf Department, since September 27, thousands of Israelis have been storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque under the pretext of celebrating the Sukkot holiday.
The Jewish holiday period began with the New Year holiday on September 12–13. After that, Yom Kippur is celebrated on September 21, Sukkot from September 26 to October 2, and Simchat Torah (the holiday marking the completion of the annual Torah reading cycle) on October 3.
