Reports are circulating on social media about a mass poisoning of children in state kindergartens in the city of Fergana. The regional Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Department has issued an official statement regarding the situation.
It is reported that starting from 7:00 PM on February 21, pupils from preschool educational institutions No. 2, No. 58, and No. 61 located in the Fergana city area were admitted to the regional infectious diseases hospital with symptoms of fever, abdominal pain, weakness, nausea, and diarrhea.
It was determined that the patients exhibited negative health conditions such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever, and nausea.
After undergoing a medical examination by treating doctors at the hospital, the patients were admitted to the diarrhea department with a diagnosis of "Acute diarrheal disease, alimentary etiology."
Currently, 62 patients are undergoing inpatient treatment in the department, and their condition is good.
Specialists from the Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Department are conducting inspections in the kindergartens' kitchens and at the food supply company, and are taking laboratory samples from the meals consumed by the children for testing.
