At least 17 people were killed and 24 others injured after a passenger bus plunged into a river in Nepal's Dhading district. Local media reported on this.
According to information, the bus was traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu when the accident occurred around 7:45 PM on February 22 on the Prithvi Highway.
Officials stated there were more than 40 passengers on the bus. It is reported that foreign citizens are also among the deceased. The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals.
Nepal police and local rescue services have been mobilized to the scene. Rescue efforts have been hampered by nighttime conditions, difficult terrain, and strong currents.
An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is currently ongoing.
