In Samarkand, a brother shot and killed his own brother with a rifle.
The incident was caused by a dispute that arose between them over the issue of diverting water from a ditch.

In Narpay district of Samarkand region, a younger brother shot and killed his older brother with a hunting rifle. Regarding the incident, the Press Secretary of the Prosecutor General's Office, Hayot Shamsutdinov, provided information to Zamon.uz.
According to reports, the incident occurred on February 12 at around 11:30 AM in the territory of the "Asilbek Goldfish" farm in the "Hojakarzon" neighborhood of Narpay district.
Citizen A.S., due to a disagreement that arose with his brother U.S. over the issue of channeling water from a ditch, got into a physical altercation with him and during the quarrel, fired a single shot at U.S. with his own "IJ-18" model hunting rifle, intentionally killing him.
Preliminary information from the forensic medical examination unit indicates that on the body of the deceased U.S., namely on the head, face, and neck organs, there were open injuries; on the left frontal lobe, both shoulder joint anterior surfaces, and the right shoulder area, there were gunshot wounds; an open craniocerebral injury; an open fracture of the frontal bone with gunshot injury to the brain tissue; open comminuted fractures of the facial bones; comminuted fractures of the 4th and 5th cervical vertebrae; and a gunshot injury to the spinal cord were diagnosed. It was indicated that his death resulted from external blood loss.
Regarding this incident, on February 12, 2026, the Narpay district prosecutor's office initiated a criminal case against A.S. under Part 1 of Article 97 of the Criminal Code, and he was detained in accordance with Article 221 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
