The President launched new projects worth $7.1 billion in Surkhandarya.
During his visit to the region, the head of state also held talks with investors.

The head of our state also familiarized himself with an exhibition of products being manufactured in Surkhandarya region and a presentation of major projects being implemented in cooperation with foreign investors.
In recent years, entrepreneurship has been rapidly developing in the region, and investor interest in the area is steadily growing.
Last year, the region's gross regional product volume reached 63.7 trillion soums. Large industrial enterprises reached nearly 30 units, small enterprises reached 4,820 units, producing 18.8 trillion soums worth of products. Foreign investment worth 2.1 billion dollars was utilized. Products and services worth 483 million dollars were exported to 37 countries worldwide.
The projects presented to the head of our state cover various sectors of the region's economy. The launch of new capacities is planned in the fields of housing construction, mining and geology, light industry, food, energy, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, education, services, and tourism.
Projects with a total value of nearly 1.6 billion dollars are being implemented in cooperation with Russia, China, Turkey, Pakistan, Japan, Germany, India, and Mongolia.

Following this, a ceremony dedicated to launching and initiating 44 projects with a total value of 7.1 billion dollars in Surkhandarya region took place with the participation of public representatives.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev pressed a symbolic button, initiating the construction and commencement of operations of new projects in the fields of mining, geology, light industry, furniture manufacturing, food, services, and tourism.
In particular, 13 projects worth 741 million dollars were launched with the participation of China, Turkey, India, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and local investors.
Furthermore, construction work began on 31 projects worth 6 billion 300 million dollars in cooperation with the countries of Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, China, India, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, and Afghanistan.
The implementation of these projects will create 18 thousand new jobs (positions), enable the production of 82 trillion soums worth of industrial products, and as a result, create the opportunity to export 1 billion 400 million dollars worth of goods.
