"Uzbekistan is a supporter of regional stability"
Uzbekistan's MFA expressed its position on the situation in the Middle East.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan expressed serious concern over the sharp escalation of the situation in the Middle East and the emergence of a new conflict situation across a wide region.
The Ministry called on the parties to exercise restraint and to refrain from further steps that could lead to a dangerous escalation, which may result in unpredictable consequences not only in military-political but also in humanitarian terms.
"We emphasize that it is appropriate to resolve the emerging crisis based on the norms of international law, through political-diplomatic means and the path of mutually acceptable dialogue.
The Republic of Uzbekistan remains a consistent supporter of strengthening regional stability and security and hopes for the earliest possible normalization of the situation," the statement says.
