"You have set the hearts of the Iranian people on fire."
Iran's National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani appeared on television as the highest-ranking official to survive the attack.

Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, spoke as one of the highest-ranking officials of the Persian state government to survive the Zionist-led attack by the United States. In a statement broadcast on state television, he emphasized that Iran's armed forces had utilized only a portion of their capabilities and preparedness, proving the loyalty of the country's government and people.
According to Larijani, it is wrong to think that killing leaders would destabilize Iran, because the Iranian people have shown their loyalty to their leadership. At the same time, he warned: "You have burned the heart of the Iranian people, and in return, we will burn your heart."
Colonialist forces, as Larijani stressed, attempt to plunder a country's resources when they enter it, and the person currently responsible for affairs in the United States is the complete symbol of this plunder. According to his words, a Provisional Leadership Council will be established to counter this situation.
Furthermore, Larijani recalled that the Iranian people have endured historical hardships and expressed confidence that the country would emerge from today's trial with its head held high: "The Mongols destroyed all of Iran, but our people fought them valiantly. This tragedy is extremely painful; the passing of such a great figure – Ayatollah Ali Khamenei – has wounded our hearts and plunged our nation into mourning. But as the late Imam said, such martyrdom makes the people even more steadfast. Our nation has a unique nature and, God willing, will pass through this heavy trial with its honor intact," he said.
