The assistant to the mayor of Yashnabad district was caught red-handed while receiving 5 thousand US dollars as a bribe during one of the neighborhood citizens' meetings on issues of entrepreneurship development, ensuring employment, and reducing poverty. This was reported to Zamon.uz by the Prosecutor General's Office.

 

It is reported that the mayor's assistant, through his acquaintances in high positions, demanded 5 thousand US dollars in exchange for helping to obtain permission to transfer a residential apartment on the 1st floor of a multi-story building to a non-residential category and to formalize the relevant documents for a citizen who wanted to engage in entrepreneurship.

 

During the inspection before the investigation, it was found that the mayor's assistant also gave money to the head of a department of the Yashnabad district administration to resolve the citizen's issue, and a second official was also caught while receiving a 600 dollar bribe.

 

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the offenders under Articles 168 and 28,211 of the Criminal Code, and the preventive measure of "detention" has been applied. Investigative actions are being carried out.
