The President of Tajikistan sent congratulations to the Supreme Leader of Iran.
Imomali Rahmon became the third head of state to congratulate Mujtaba Khamenei after Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon congratulated Mojtaba Khamenei on being elected as the new Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This was reported by the press service of the President of Tajikistan.
In his congratulatory letter, Emomali Rahmon expressed confidence that the Iranian people, under the leadership of the new leader, will overcome the complex challenges facing the country.
Furthermore, the Tajik leader highly appreciated Iran's role in strengthening peace and stability at the regional and global levels, and also emphasized his readiness to further develop cooperation between the two countries based on the principles of mutual trust and respect.
Prior to Emomali Rahmon, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had also congratulated Mojtaba Khamenei.
On March 9, Iran's 88-member Assembly of Experts elected Mojtaba Khamenei as the country's new Supreme Leader. He is described as a religious figure with experience in political and social affairs.
Following this, it was reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps took an oath of allegiance to the new leader.
