Gennady Zyuganov, Chairman of the Communist Party of Russia, assessed US actions in the Middle East as "aggression, violence, and unprincipled behavior." Zyuganov informed about this at a State Duma meeting.
According to him, the war in the Middle East is part of Trump's strategy, and the target after Iran will be Russia.
"When it comes to the struggle for survival, Iran is fighting now. We will be next. Look at Trump's strategy: first China, second us, third Iran," said Zyuganov.
According to the deputy's words, the events taking place in the Persian Gulf show that "the masks of American imperialism have been removed."
"The plan for a swift military strike failed. They hoped the Iranians would quickly raise their hands and we would dictate our terms. Nothing of the sort is happening," he said.
Zyuganov noted the severe consequences of the war for the region, stating that combat operations have led to water and food-related problems due to damage to desalination plants and infrastructure.
