In Zafarobod district of Jizzakh region, a citizen was identified dragging a donkey behind his car. The "Zamon" program reported on this.

 

It was reported that after the incident was reflected in a video spread on social networks, the regional internal affairs authorities identified the driver and formalized an administrative report against him.

 

According to the driver, a malfunction occurred in his car while he was bringing seedlings from Pop district of Namangan region. Then the driver unloaded the donkey from the cargo compartment so it would not suffocate. The driver stated that after the vehicle was repaired, conditions to reload the donkey did not arise, which is why he dragged it for about 100-150 meters. The driver expressed regret for his actions.

 

Regarding the incident, an administrative report was formalized against him under Article 111 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (Cruelty to animals). The documents have been sent to court, and a legal decision is awaited.

 

According to this article, cruelty to animals can result in a fine or administrative detention for up to 15 days. If the offense is repeated or leads to the death of the animal, the penalty becomes more severe.
