Israel announced the death of Ali Larijani.
It is also said that the commander of the Basij forces, Gholamreza Soleimani, has been killed.

According to statements by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, Ali Larijani, the head of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, and Gholamreza Soleimani, the commander of the Basij forces, were killed in overnight airstrikes.
Iranian state media have not yet confirmed this news, but it is said that an official statement from Larijani's office will be issued shortly.
The Israeli military had previously announced that extensive strikes were carried out across Tehran and that attacks against Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon have been intensified.
Larijani is a former parliament speaker who served as an advisor to the late Ali Khamenei on nuclear negotiations. Soleimani commanded the Basij forces, actively participated in suppressing internal dissent, and was sanctioned by the US and the European Union.
According to Israel, the killing of Soleimani could seriously impact the Basij's command structure.
