An official statement has been issued regarding a video circulating on social networks titled "Debt conflict in Surkhandarya: clash between internal affairs officers and citizens."
It was reported that on February 2, six men came to the house of a woman named R.R., a resident of the "Mehnatobod" neighborhood in Muzrabot district, demanding repayment of loaned money, causing a disturbance at the address, and disturbing public order and the peace of citizens. The woman was found to be an accused under Article 168 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Upon being called, prevention inspectors who arrived at the scene conducted explanatory work with the citizens who were causing the disturbance.
While taking the citizens to the district DIA for formalizing the situation, one of them, Ch.Kh., showed sharp resistance to the officers and struck prevention inspector Captain R. Choriyev in the face with his head. In an attempt to evade responsibility, Ch.Kh. pretended to have lost consciousness.
While Ch.Kh. was being taken to the hospital for a health check, his child, M.Kh., born in 2008, arrived and suddenly attacked prevention inspector Major E. Azamov, at which time the officer used physical force to stop him.
Currently, regarding the situation, a criminal case has been initiated by the Muzrabot district prosecutor's office under Part 2 of Article 219 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and detention as a preventive measure has been applied to citizen Ch.Kh., while a written undertaking not to leave has been set as a preventive measure for his minor son M.Kh. in accordance with the law.
