Over 200 cases of pressure on the media were recorded in Afghanistan within one year.
This indicator has increased by more than 20 percent compared to last year.

In Afghanistan, 207 cases related to violations of media freedom and violence against journalists were recorded in 2025. Tolo news reports this based on the annual report of the Afghanistan Journalists Center.
The report was released on the occasion of National Journalists Day, celebrated in the country. It analyzes the situation concerning freedom of speech and journalistic activity in Afghanistan.
According to the Center's data, among the recorded cases are the killing of two journalists, the injury of another journalist, 183 threats against media representatives and editorial staff, as well as 21 cases related to the arrest of journalists and media activists.
The report emphasizes that the number of such incidents has increased by more than 20 percent compared to 2024.
