According to the latest information, the Iran-backed armed group in Yemen — the Houthis — announced on Saturday that they had carried out a ballistic missile attack against Israel. This created the impression that another front had opened in the expanding war in the Middle East. The New York Times reported on this.

According to CNN's publication, the ballistic missile intercepted by Israel was targeting Israeli military facilities in the south of the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

On Friday, U.S. officials reported that as a result of a missile and drone attack carried out by Iran on a military base in Saudi Arabia, 12 American soldiers were wounded, two of them in serious condition. This is being assessed as one of the most serious breaches in the U.S. defense system since the war began.

The Houthis' military spokesman, Yahya Saree, emphasized that the attacks would "continue until the aggression stops." This statement refers to the U.S.-Israel war with Iran and Israel's ongoing campaign against another Iran-backed group in Lebanon — "Hezbollah."
