The UN has established a special group on ship safety in the Strait of Hormuz.
Group activity is focused on ensuring the transportation of fertilizers and raw materials through the port.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has established a special working group on ensuring the safety of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported by report.az.
It is reported that the working group will be led by George Moriera da Silva, the head of the UN Office for Project Services.
"The priority task of this working group is to develop technical mechanisms to ensure humanitarian purposes in the Strait of Hormuz," said the UN Secretary-General's official spokesperson, Dujarric.
According to his words, the group's activities are aimed at ensuring the transport of fertilizers and raw materials through the strait.
It is noted that in implementing the initiative, the experience of previous UN projects, including the Black Sea Grain Initiative, will also be taken into account.
The mechanism's activities will be carried out in close cooperation with member states, respecting the norms of international law and state sovereignty.
