Additional measures have been established in Uzbekistan to ensure food supply for the population during the autumn-winter season.

Additional measures aimed at ensuring the stable supply of agricultural products to the population during the autumn-winter seasons in Uzbekistan have been established. This was reported in the President's decree dated March 25, "On additional measures for the stable supply of agricultural products to the population during the autumn-winter seasons."
The decree sets the main target indicators for the development of greenhouse activities in the republic for 2026-2027.
According to the document, it is planned to organize modern greenhouse complexes on an area of at least 940 hectares in the Sherabad district of Surkhandarya region.
Furthermore, it is envisaged to increase the share of energy-efficient and alternative energy-based heating systems in greenhouses to at least 50 percent. It is also planned to gradually reduce the activities of business entities emitting harmful pollutants into the atmospheric air.
In accordance with the decree, the "Surkhan-Agro" free economic zone will be established in the Sherabad district of Surkhandarya region.
A number of privileges and preferences will be granted to greenhouse farms operating in this area. In particular, when land plots are leased to entrepreneurs through an electronic online auction, a zero-rate lease payment will be applied for 5 years.
In addition, it has been established that payments for the use of wastewater and groundwater used for irrigation and technological processes in greenhouses will be exempted for a period of 3 years.
It is also envisaged that, as an exception, permission to burn coal will be granted during periods of anomalously cold weather conditions, provided that environmental requirements are observed.
