A narcocriminal group consisting of pensioners was exposed in Surkhandarya.
An Afghan citizen, acting as a supplier, has been engaged in distributing narcotics by establishing communication with a group of elderly individuals.

The activities of an organized drug criminal group have been stopped in Surkhandarya region. The regional Department of Internal Affairs reported this.
According to the information, an Afghan citizen, acting as a supplier, had established a criminal connection with a group of elderly citizens from Surkhandarya and had been engaged in drug courier activities and distributing narcotic substances in the territory of Termiz city and district.
During an urgent operation conducted by the Surkhandarya regional Department of Internal Affairs in cooperation with State Security Service personnel, one of the suspects was detained and checked, and it was found that he had opium narcotics on him. During the operation, another person who supplied these substances was also identified, and the money given to him for the special operation was seized as material evidence. As a result of continued investigations, another member of the group was apprehended. 5 grams of narcotics were found on him.
At the next stage, the main link of this criminal chain was exposed. A total of 12 packages containing 12.42 grams of opium substances were found in his residence. It was also discovered that there were drug paraphernalia in the residence.
It is noted that the suspects, while trying to hide their own guilt, also exposed their accomplices.
Currently, regarding this case, a criminal case has been initiated against all suspects under Articles 276 and 273 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the preventive measure of detention has been applied.
