If Russia is ready, Ukraine will completely cease fire — Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the country is ready to completely cease fire at any time. Zelenskyy wrote about this on his Telegram channel, addressing the issue of a possible peace with Russia.

He emphasized that Ukraine carries out strikes against Russia not as an initiative, but as a retaliatory measure. Zelenskyy also noted that against the backdrop of the global energy crisis, signals have been received from some partner states to reduce attacks on Russia's oil and energy sector.

"I emphasize once again: if Russia is ready not to strike Ukraine's energy sector, we will not retaliate against their energy sector," he said.

According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine has put forward and is ready to discuss options for a complete ceasefire, an energy peace, and an agreement on food security.

"We are ready to discuss any option for a ceasefire. A complete ceasefire, an energy peace, and a peace on food security — we have proposed all of this and are open to it. If the Russians are ready, let it be proposed for any period, we are steadfast in resolving this issue," he wrote.

He also stressed that Ukraine will not compromise on the issue of its sovereignty and dignity.

For reference, on March 30, on the occasion of Easter, Volodymyr Zelenskyy also expressed his readiness to consider the possibility of a ceasefire.
