Mobile communication tariff plans without internet may be introduced in Uzbekistan.
Mobile operators may be required to offer tariff plans without internet traffic.

New changes in mobile communication services are being considered at the initiative of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Ministry has developed a draft Government Resolution aimed at improving tariff plans, taking into account the needs of various segments of the population.
According to the document, mobile operators may be required to offer tariff plans without internet traffic—consisting only of calls and SMS messages.
It is noted that the current absence of such tariff plans in the market leads to additional costs for some citizens. In particular, elderly people who do not use the internet are forced to subscribe to tariffs that include internet packages.
Furthermore, although some parents prefer tariffs without internet to protect their minor children from harmful information, such an option is currently limited.
This draft resolution has been agreed upon with the relevant ministries and agencies.
The document was published for public discussion on March 31.
