At least 22 people were injured after a passenger train derailed in Russia's Ulyanovsk region. DW reported on this.

 

Chelyabinsk region governor Aleksey Teksler reported that seven carriages of a train traveling on the Chelyabinsk-Moscow route derailed near the Bryandino station.

 

Among the injured is one child. Two people were found to have bone fractures, while the remaining 20 passengers sustained bruises of varying severity.

 

According to the state news agency TASS, there were a total of 415 passengers on the train at the time of the incident. As a result of the derailment, the carriages tipped onto their sides, and passengers were evacuated through the windows.

 

Emergency services, units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and three recovery trains are currently working at the scene of the incident.
