The Deputy Governor of Andijan Region for Tourism, Culture, Cultural Heritage, and Mass Communications, Ismanov Isomiddin Bakhriddinovich, was caught red-handed while taking a bribe.

 

It is reported that on April 4, 2026, based on an appeal from citizen S.R.T., the State Security Service's regional department conducted an urgent operation. During the operation, the official was caught with material evidence while receiving a sum of money amounting to 50,000 US dollars.

 

According to the report, Ismanov promised citizen S.R.T. that he would arrange for a 20-sotix plot of land from the state reserve in the territory of Bobur city to be put up for auction through the head of the regional construction and housing-utilities department, have it registered in his name, and subsequently obtain a construction permit for the site. In exchange for this service, he demanded 2,500 US dollars per sotix, totaling 50,000 dollars.

 

During the urgent operation, chemically treated money provided by S.R.T. was handed over to Ismanov at his residence, at which point the official was apprehended.

 

Regarding this incident, a criminal case has been initiated against I.B. Ismanov under Part 4, paragraph "a" of Article 168 and Part 3, paragraph "a" of Article 211 of the Criminal Code. B. Ismanov was detained in accordance with the procedure of Article 221 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

 

For information, Isomiddin Ismanov served as Deputy Head of the Andijan Region Department of Internal Affairs – Head of the Public Security Service from 2022 to 2025. Since May 2025, he worked as the Head of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Urgent Search and Operational Situation Analysis.

 

In December 2025, he was appointed to the position of Deputy Governor of Andijan Region for Tourism, Culture, Cultural Heritage, and Mass Communications.
