A fire broke out on two buses in Tashkent.

On April 6, incidents of fire and smoke emission were recorded on two "Mercedes-Benz" passenger buses in Tashkent city. Regarding the incidents, "Toshshahartransxizmat" JSC provided an official statement.

It was reported that the first incident occurred around 18:45 on Yangi Sergeli Street in Sergeli district. A fire broke out on bus route number 143, manufactured in 2012, under the management of "Bus Depot No. 4", with state license plate 01/916 OJA, due to a short circuit in the electrical cables. The driver, F.A., attempted to extinguish the fire using a primary fire extinguisher, but the flames intensified. Subsequently, EMERGENCIES Ministry fire and rescue units arrived at the scene and managed to extinguish the fire in a short time. There were no casualties as a result of the incident, but the bus sustained technical damage.

The second incident was observed at 21:55 on the same day at the "Qashqarlik" stop in Qibray district. Smoke emission was detected on a bus operating on route number 169, manufactured in 2012, belonging to the "Bus Depot No. 8" branch, with state license plate 01|988 TCA, caused by a short circuit in the electrical wires in the engine compartment. The driver, A.U., quickly assessed the situation, took necessary measures, and eliminated the short circuit. There were also no casualties in this incident, and the bus was technically damaged.

Currently, service inspections are being conducted by specialists regarding both incidents, and work to eliminate the technical malfunctions is ongoing.

It is planned that the buses will be returned to their routes according to the established procedure once they are fully restored to operational condition.
